Model BTE/BAP | Angle Pattern Choke / Control Valve

Forum Energy Technologies (FET)

The FET Model BTE and BAP are angle pattern choke/control valves engineered for precise flow control in high-pressure, erosive wellhead and production applications. Designed with a quarter-turn disc mechanism and impinging 180° flow path, these valves effectively manage severe pressure drops while minimizing wear on internal components.

Available in multiple sizes and configurations, the BTE (inline) and BAP (angle pattern) share interchangeable trim assemblies and a top-entry design that allows maintenance and component replacement without removing the valve from the line.

With options for ceramic or tungsten carbide discs, replaceable wear sleeves, and multiple connection types, these valves are built for long-term reliability in extreme service conditions including gas, CO2, and injection systems.

Typical Applications:
Wellhead choke, gas lift, injection systems, pump bypass, line heater control, blowdown lines, and gas processing systems

PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGES

Why the F-E-T BTE/BAP Perform Where It Counts

ENGINEERED FOR SEVERE EROSION CONTROL

The impinging 180° flow path directs erosive flow energy away from valve walls, significantly reducing wear. Combined with tungsten carbide or ceramic trim, this design extends service life in high-velocity, solids-laden flow.

MANAGEMENT WITHOUT FREEZE-UP

The staged pressure drop design breaks pressure reduction into multiple steps, reducing the risk of hydrate formation and freeze-up in natural gas service. This improves operational reliability in cold and high-pressure environments.

FIELD-SERVICEABLE WITHOUT REMOVAL

Top-entry construction allows full trim replacement while the valve remains installed in the line. This minimizes downtime and reduces maintenance cost in critical production systems.

CONFIGURABLE FOR FLOW REQUIREMENTS

Multiple orifice sizes, material selections, and connection types allow precise customization for each application. This ensures optimal performance across a wide range of pressures, flow rates, and media types.
