COMPACT SLAB & EXPANDING
GATE VALVES

SCV Valve

The SCV Compact Slab & Expanding Gate Valves bring the full-bore thru conduit design to large-diameter pipelines in a lighter, more compact body. Built to API 6D, they present a clean, unobstructed bore when open, passing pigs with minimal pressure loss while trimming weight and face-to-face length.

The slab gate uses a bored slab with floating, spring-energized seats for a pressure-energized seal, while the compact expanding gate mechanically wedges against both seats for a positive two-way seal. Dual seat sealant injection ports and stem packing injection carry over from the standard line.

Available in sizes 12" through 48" at ASME Class 150, the valves use a carbon steel body, stainless stem, and soft or metal seats. An OS&Y rising stem, NACE MR-01-75 construction, optional bore coatings, and ISO mounting plates complete the package.

Typical Applications:
Large-diameter piggable pipeline isolation, oil, gas, and crude transmission and gathering, water and produced-water lines, terminal and station block service, and weight-sensitive large-valve installations.

The compact body reduces weight and face-to-face length on 12" through 48" valves, cutting the support, handling, and installation costs that dominate large-valve projects. Big-bore isolation gets easier to specify and install.

FULL-BORE, PIGGABLE FLOW PATH

The through-conduit design keeps an unobstructed bore equal to the line when open, so the valve passes pigs and spheres with minimal pressure loss. That makes it a clean fit on large transmission and gathering lines that are regularly cleaned or inspected.

TWO SEALING DESIGNS FOR THE SERVICE

The slab gate delivers a pressure-energized seal that tightens as line pressure rises, while the expanding gate delivers a positive mechanical two-way seal independent of pressure. Selecting the right design matches the sealing method to the application.

IN-SERVICE SEALING AND MAINTENANCE

Dual seat sealant injection ports and stem packing injection let operators restore a seal and refresh packing without pulling the valve from the line. That extends service intervals and reduces downtime on large, hard-to-replace isolation points.
