CLPBB | BOLTED BONNET PLUG
& CAGE CHOKE
Cactus Flow Products
The Cactus Flow Products CLPBB is a bolted bonnet plug and cage choke for high-capacity flow control where larger trim and easy access matter. A stem-mounted plug travels through a ported cage, whose ports direct flow toward the center to cut turbulence, erosion, and trim wear.
The bolted bonnet opens the valve for straightforward trim service and supports a larger trim range than the standard body. A pressure-balanced, self-flushing design lowers operating torque, and tungsten carbide trim is available for sand-laden and abrasive service.
Rated 2,000 to 15,000 PSI in sizes 1-13/16" to 4-1/16", the CLPBB takes API and ANSI flanged, butt-weld, or hammer union ends. Trim sizes .75 to 3.2 give it more high-capacity headroom than the CLPB across wellhead, production, and injection service.
Typical Applications:
Wellhead flow control, production and flowback, erosive and sand-laden service, gathering and injection lines, and automated choke control.

Why the CFP CLPBB Choke Performs Where It Counts
BOLTED BONNET FOR EASY SERVICE
The bolted bonnet opens the choke for direct access to the plug and cage, simplifying trim inspection and replacement in the field. Downtime drops because trim service does not require pulling the valve from the line.
LARGER TRIM, HIGHER CAPACITY
A trim range extending to 3.2 gives the CLPBB more flow coefficient headroom than the standard body. That lets it handle higher production rates without stepping up to a larger valve size.
TRIM THAT SURVIVES EROSIVE FLOW
Cage ports direct flow streams toward the center of the trim, neutralizing forces and keeping erosion off the plug and cage walls. Paired with tungsten carbide trim, this extends service life in sand-laden and high-velocity flow.
LOWER TORQUE, EASIER ACTUATION
The pressure-balanced plug reduces the force needed to stroke the choke, cutting operating torque at any pressure. That means smaller actuators, lower operating cost, and smoother automated control.
