CRYOGENIC TRUNNION BALL VALVE

GWC USA

The GWC USA Cryogenic Trunnion Ball Valve is a trunnion mounted ball valve engineered for LNG and extreme low-temperature service. The ball is fixed on trunnions for reliable sealing at low torque, and the cryogenic design ensures efficient sealing through the thermal swings of cryogenic fluids.

An extended bonnet moves the stem seals and packing out of the cold zone to a workable temperature. Double block and bleed, single or double piston effect seats, an anti-blow out stem, firesafe certification, and spring loaded seats carry the full trunnion feature set.

Rated for cryogenic temperatures from -47°C to -196°C (-52°F to -320°F), with coverage to -200°C (-328°F), the valve is built to API 6D and ASME B16.34. Each valve is cryogenically tested before shipment, with full and reduced bore and NACE MR-01-75 construction.

Typical Applications:
LNG production and processing, cryogenic fluid handling, ethylene and gas processing, thermal swing service, low-temperature storage and transfer, and manual or automated block service.

PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGES

Why the GWC Cryogenic Trunnion Ball Valve performs where it counts.

RELIABLE SEALING THROUGH THERMAL SWINGS

The cryogenic design maintains efficient sealing as the valve cycles between ambient and cryogenic temperatures, where ordinary valves lose seat contact. That keeps LNG and cryogenic lines tight through startup, operation, and thaw.

EXTENDED BONNET PROTECTS THE SEALS

The extended bonnet keeps the stem seals and packing out of the cold zone at a workable temperature, preventing the seal embrittlement that causes stem leaks in cryogenic service. Reliability and safety stay high over long service.

FACTORY CRYOGENIC-TESTED

Each valve is tested on GWC's dedicated cryogenic benches before shipment, verifying seat and stem sealing at operating temperature. That gives assurance the valve performs before it reaches the field.

LOW TORQUE AT HIGH PRESSURE

Because the ball is fixed on trunnions, line pressure loads the seats rather than the ball, keeping operating torque low even at high pressure and large sizes. That means smaller actuators and easier operation than a floating design.
